i am interested in making a breakout box for a bent 626. can i purchase female db25 ports/jacks from you? any suggestions of where to get materials to build a patch bay?

Did you find the DB-25 plates? They may be useful.

The connectors themselves are not available--sorry. But you can get connectors with solder terminals or with pre-wired ribbon cables from digikey & other suppliers.

Here's a forum post that might be helpful.

Also, there are parts lists & design files on the product page for each Glitchdesk module here:

...you might adapt these designs to suit your own needs.

Hope this helps--please let me know if I can provide more information...

i appreciate the help and pardon my inexperience here. i went to digikey and was pretty overwhelmed by their parts lists. could i trouble you for a link to exactly what i need? i can't find a db25 that has solder lugs or a ribbon. i m looking for the female connectors because i have a male-male cable already. (insert jokes here)

thanks

I realize you've already found some parts--but maybe this will help others...

Yeah, the digikey search (http://digikey.com/) can be intimidating...but it's really useful--since the part characteristics appear as menu selections, you don't need to know the important keywords in advance.

To start, just enter "connector" in the parts search box, then select the link for the "D-sub" category. (7,000+ items)

Then select:

Connector Type = Receptacle, Female Socket
Type = DB25
"In Stock" = checked

Now there are only 223 items to choose from! ;) ...so you can select:

Termination = Solder Cup

...and there are only 36 items left. Part 225FE-ND (http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=225FE-ND) looks like an inexpensive choice.

I'd also recommend a pre-wired connector. This will save you a lot of time. Start a new search for "cable" and select the "D-Sub" link under "Cable Assemblies". Then select:

1st Connector = Female Receptacle
2nd Connector = Individual Wire Leads
Type = DB25

I like H7SXH-2506M-ND (http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=H7SXH-2506M-ND). Essentially, for an extra $4, you get 6' of ribbon cable pre-wired to the connector. This might save you 30 minutes or more of soldering headaches, depending on your skill level. The part is not "in stock", but digikey will make the cable assembly on-demand and ship the same day. After using these, I will never go back to wiring my own connectors.
