Hi,

The installation for "LA dictée magique" should be just like the "Speak & Spell". If the part numbers on the chips are different, it still should not be a problem.

If you're having trouble deciding where to connect the wires from the MIDISpeak, can you post a photo of your PCB? I will help you identify the connections.

Thanks for posting those--unfortunately, they are much too low-res to work with. Can you get some higher-resolution / clearer photos?

Hello. At first thank you for your job!!
I have buy a speak midi kit.
I build it on the ROM Mode instruction and connect point on your datasheet most models.

-The dictée magique works normaly
-No Bug
- I follow correct operation: Speak & Spell: ON, GO (a single underscore character should appear on the toy's display)
-but no midi control

I dont know if my probleme come from my assembly or the points connect.

Looks at my pics:

Hi Harold,

Did you follow the troubleshooting procedure linked here?

http://forum.highlyliquid.com/showthread.php?t=1

Do you see any activity on the screen (a brief "flash") when you send MIDI notes to the MIDISpeak?

What MIDI notes / MIDI channel are you sending?

-Yes i have followed the troobleshooting

-No activity when i send midi note

-i tested the midi note with my microkorg and my drum machine alesis hr-16.
I checked the midi chanel ( N°1 on speak spell and the controller )
The switch Dip is on 1/off 2/off 3/off 4/off 5/on 6/on

edit: I have the same pcb look like this:

Looking again at your photos, it looks like IC2 is inserted into the socket backwards. The end with the dot should be matched with the notch in the circuit board legend.

Please reverse IC2 and let me know if that fixes the problem...
