Default Lighted keyboard?

Would it be possible to use the UMR to drive a strip of LEDs that sit above the keys of a MIDI keyboard and have the MIDI notes correspond (and trigger) and LED for each of the 128 MIDI notes?

I'm looking for a way to add the feature found in many Casio lighted keyboards to my existing controller.

Thanks!

Hi Ross,

The UMR is not suited for this particular application.

However, the MD24 can drive LEDs for this purpose. With the current firmware, you'd need 1 MD24 unit for each group of 24 LEDs.

But perhaps I will consider working on a matrixed LED output feature for the MD24. Potentially, one MD24 could drive a matrix of 128 LEDs. I'm not sure when this would be--you might not want to wait for it, if you're in a hurry.
