Default Need help writing SYSEX for MSA-R, multiple notes triggering 1 relay

I'm kind of a noob, I was wondering, can I set up the MSA-R, so that each relay will respond to more than 1 note.

I like it's current set up with
Relay 1 being C3
Relay 2 being C#3
Relay 3 being D3
Relay 4 being D#3
Relay 5 being E3
Relay 6 being F3
Relay 7 being F#3
relay 8 being G3

But I would really like it to be....

Relay 1: C1, G#1, E2, C3, G#3, E4, C5, G#5, E6, C7, G#7
Relay 2: D#1, A1, F2, D#3, A3, F4, D#5, A5, F6, D#7, A7

and so on.

can the relays be activated from multiple notes like that?

I think I could fill in the numbers, but can I have a sample of the sysex to do that if it's possible. thanks

Hi Charlie,

Unfortunately, with the current firmware (V3.1) it's not possible to configure one MSA output to respond to more than one note number. This would be a good feature request for the next version.

Smile firmware update

word, well, that's ok.

I'm a little fuzzy on firmware vs hardware vs. software.

If there was a firmware update in the future that allowed that ability, would it apply to all MSA-R boards VIA a midi firmware update of some kind.

or would it only apply to new boards?

and, are there any plans for a firmware update in the immediate future?

thanks,

Hi Charlie, it could be a firmware update that can be applied to any Rev K MSA board via sysex.

There is a large backlog of other updates already, so I can't say it will happen soon. But it wouldn't hurt to add the feature request here:
