Default Control change with MD24

Hello,

I have a question for the MD24...

Can each output can be control by control change ( CC ) .... And can 2 CC# be assign to each output...
Exemple:
I would like to do this: ( value 0 is OFF, value 127 is ON )
- output 2 is latching on CC# 25
- output 2 is momentary on CC# 65

thank's

Hi Bent,

With the current firmware, each MD24 output can only respond in a "latching" way to a single CC number.

For example:

CC #25 value 0-63 --> MD24 output is "off" (0V)
CC #25 value 64-127 --> MD24 output is "on" (5V)

or visa-versa.

Multiple-CC response for a single output is something that would be good to request for firmware version 2.0.

Thank,s John!

Should i use the code in the figure 2-3?

If so, why some have the 27 - Controller forward
and some have 01 - note trigger

thank's again !

Hi Bent,

Mode 27h is for controlling a servo. If you only want to have a 5V logic output, (on/off), then use mode 18h.

For example:

Code:
// header for MD24 MIDI Configuration
F0 00 01 5D 03 01

// Output #0, CC On/Off (Mode 18h), Channel 2, CC #5
00 18 02 05

// Output #1, CC On/Off (Mode 18h), Channel 2, CC #6
01 18 02 06

// footer
F7
Don't forget to convert the CC # to hex before using it in the sysex. For example: CC #25 = 19h

iT'S WORKING !!!!

THANK,S jOHN !!!!

i HAVE OTHER' QUESTION....
I TRY TO UPGRADE MY MD24 , CAUSE I HAVE THE REV E VERSION , AND I THINK I HAVE THE FIRMWARE 1.0 ....HOW CAN I UPGRADED TO 1.3 ? I SEARCH YOUR SITE BUT COULDNT FIND THE ANSWER....PROBABLY MUPHY'S LAW, IT'S SO EVIDENT THAT I DONT SEE IT ! LOL!

AND I HAVE ONE OF YOUR MIDI CPU, REV K ...
CAN I PROGRAM IT TO HAVE 30 SWITCH IN A MATRIX, AND HAVE 6 OUTPUT (5V) FOR DRIVING NPN TRANSISTOR CONFIGURATION FOR RELAY ?
I WAS THINKING OF A MATRIX 5 X 6 FOR THE SWITCH, AND USE 6 OUTPUT FOR THE NPN TRANSISTOR CONFIGURATION FOR RELAY ...

And a last question: If i have the MIDI signal that goes to the MIDI CPU IN, then i have a cable that goes from the CPU OUT to the MD-24 MIDI IN, can i send a sysex message thought the CPU IN to program the MD-24, or i need to disconnect the MD-24 from the CPU to program it?

WHAT DO YOU THINK ?

BENT

The Rev E MD24 is not firmware upgradable by MIDI, sorry. What feature do you need from the newer version?

I have copied this question to a new thread in the MIDI CPU forum. I will address it there:

The MIDI CPU does not send SysEx messages thru. It blocks them.

So, in order to configure the MD24, you must connect your computer MIDI interface directly to the MD24 input.

(The MD24, however, sends all data from its MIDI In to its MIDI Thru port, including sysex messages.)
