Default DAW control

I'm getting confused with MIDI in versus MIDI out

I want to build an ableton controller that has a mixture momentary switches, pots, sliders and pads.

I don't however need feedback for LEDs or anything.
will this do the trick?

Hi Vince, welcome to the forum.

The EZMIDI is switch input only. You want to look at the MIDI CPU instead.

There are all kinds of application examples in the MIDI CPU forum. If you have more questions create a thread over there and I will do my best to answer.

Ok I think i get it now.
I think this could still be handy, I've always wanted to use my midi keyboard to unlock a secret compartment. I could use it to replace the number pad on a digital lock. Or control servos, solenoids, leds, etc. very cool
