Default Foot controller for Amplitube

Hi, I want to build a foot controller for Amplitube running on my computer.

It will consist of:

12 IA switches + LEDs that go on and off according to the stomp boxes on Ampltube

7 PC switches + LEDs that toggle according to the presets in Amplitube

1 tap tempo switch for controlling the tempo function in Amplitube (is this possible?) + LED that flashes according to the speed

2 external expression pedal inputs

2 external IA switch inputs + LEDs

What products are needed for this project? Also, how will the controller get information from Amplitube to control the LEDs properly?

Thanks,

- Akiva

Hi Akiva, welcome to the forum. The MIDI CPU is an excellent choice for this project:

http://midicpu.com

The MIDI CPU does not yet control LED states in response to incoming MIDI messages, but this will be changing soon. You can see the feature request thread here:

http://forum.highlyliquid.com/showthread.php?t=1011

Tap tempo is also a commonly requested feature. At the moment I'm not sure when that will be implemented.

If you browse the forum (or use the search box to look for foot controllers) you will find implementation details for most of the features you need. Please consider creating your own project thread and I'll be glad to help out with wiring diagrams and to answer any questions you might have as you go along.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if I can provide more information.

Can I use a decoder to control the LEDs?

Yes, you could use an MD24 to drive the LEDs:
