Default Sears Video Arcade II

I have a Sears Video Arcade II (the one I played the hell out of back in the day) and I'd love to install the Midi2600 internal in it. It just looks damn cool with all the lights and black plastic -- almost like a synth module already.

This model has 4 controller ports due to the way the original controllers were made (I think). I've looked at the circuit board and I think I can find all the points I would need but would the extra/different controller layout cause any problems with the Midi2600? Would there be any benefits?

The SVAII is a 2800 clone. Does that put it out all together?

Thanks!

EDIT: Nevermind that 2800 stuff...

Are you planning on using Synthcart with your console? Or do you have other plans...?

The MIDI2600 just emulates a pair of joysticks or keypads connected to the console--it does not add any synthesis functionality per se. So, if the console accepts standard 2600 joysticks or keypads, the MIDI2600 should work...

Hope this is helpful--if not, please let me know.

Yes, Synthcart (would have been useful to include that).

So as long as I can use the Synthcart with standard 2600 joysticks/keypads I'm good to go. Excellent!

My main concern was the 4 controller ports vs 2 and if that would change anything.

Thanks!

I can't say for certain without a firsthand test, but in theory this should not cause any trouble.
