Default MIDI retro fit for lowrey magic genie 44

Hey there,

I'm new to the forum (but not new to modding). I have an old lowrey organ that I want to midi retrofit. I just want it to receive midi on and off keys. That's the extent of it.

The schematics are here:

Was just wondering if this was possible?

Thanks.

Hi Ric, welcome to the forum.

At a glance, I do not think the UMR2 will be compatible. The easiest approach might be a general-purpose MIDI decoder triggering an independent relay for each key switch.

This might be something like the MSA-R, or maybe the new version of the MD24 (when it becomes available) with photorelay expansion modules.

Thanks for your help John,

So I would need enough relays for every key?

That would surely work, but of course it would be costly and inelegant.
