Default MPA functionality

Hi John,

is it possible to use the MIDIWidget to control digital potentiometers as per the retired MPA product?

Many thanks,

Jeff

Hi Jeff, that's a good question. I have thought about adding the functionality. It's a matter of firmware programming and also adding the config options to the MIDIWidget configurator.

I'd like to implement it, but to be honest, it might be a long time before I get to it. I have a giant to-do list of which the MIDIWidget is only part.

That said, since both the MPA (and soon) the MIDIWidget are open source, anyone with some motivation can do some DIY programming. You'd be looking at "bit banging" some control codes to the digipot via the MIDIWidget output terminals. (MIDIWidget does not have SPI output pins, which I regret somewhat.)
