Default MIDIWidget ACT and STBY Terminals

Greetings from the UK.

Looking at the MIDIWidget which I've just purchased, how do I connect external LED's to the ACT and STBY terminals?

Thank you
David

Hi David, welcome to the forum. I don't have a diagram image handy, but for the sake of a faster reply, it looks like this:

(+5 V)----|>|"----/\/\/\----(ACT terminal)

and

(+5 V)----|>|"----/\/\/\----(STBY terminal)

Where:

- the +5 V can be supplied by the MIDIWidget 5V terminal
- the LED is a standard-brightness part with Vf of ~2 V
- the resistor is 1k ohm

Given the setup above, the ACT and STBY terminals will each sink about 3 mA when "on". If you decide to adjust the values, make sure to limit the current to a maximum of 10 mA into each terminal.
