This only happens with SK5, with SK1 works fine.

Hi Ernani,

So the "ghost notes" only occur when using the SK-5 / UMR2 in MIDI controller mode to control an external synthesizer, correct?

This problem has been observed with some other keyboards, such as the Yamaha CS01.

At some point I will try to figure out the cause of the problem. There is a chance that there is a problem with the UMR2's key monitoring algorithm.

Hi Guys,

Just finished installing the UMR2 on SK5. Tested it and it works fine
I found the best way to avoid ghost notes was to make sure the MIDI IN plug was not connected after step 6 of the Setup Procedure.

Now I just have two questions.
1) I was wondering which place on the SK5 casing is the best for placing the 2 MIDI plugs.
2) Where are points 4 and 10 on the SK5 control panel? Sorry I don't have the schematics.

Thanks,
H

I used to use the space around the speaker. It's been a while those, so I can't remember if the speaker would have to be removed or not.

The control panel ribbon cable is the larger ribbon cable to the right of the keyboard ribbon cable in this photo. (The keyboard ribbon has the yellow box around it.) The pin numbers are labeled on the PCB.
