Default Splitting masterkeyboard

Hello everybody,

I have a masterkeyboard with Midi OUT connection.
It sends only midi on channel 1 for all the 6 octaves (76 keys).
Now i would like to have the possibillity to split the keyboard.
Is there a board that can do this split ?
Midi IN on channel 1 and Midi Out for lower notes to channel 1 and higher notes to channel 2.

Thanks
Greetz

Hi Etienne, welcome to the forum.

For now, the best way to do this is to remove the control circuitry from your controller and use a MIDI CPU as the MIDI brain. The MIDI CPU can send messages on several different channels concurrently.

A "midi filter" device that will do what you need (by processing incoming MIDI messages, remapping them, and sending them as MIDI output) is something that I am considering for a new product, but it is not something that I have at this time. Sorry.
