Default MSA-R Unresponsive

I just received my MSA-R Board. I'm a 'need-to-know' electronics DIY-er in that I only know as much as I need to get what I want out of a particular project. So bare with me.

I connected a 9V battery to the board (no switch) and then a momentary switch to the PRGM terminals to test learn mode. I powered up in Learn mode with no problems, but accidentally disconnected power before doing anything else.

Now I get no LED response whatsoever when I disconnect and reconnect power. John mentioned power cycling the board... I think I've already done that? Unless I'm missing something. Many thanks!

Hi theFlaneur, welcome to the forum.

Sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your MSA-R.

Have you double-checked the polarity of the battery to make sure the leads are not reversed?

Do you have a multimeter? When you power up the MSA-R, can you report the voltage across the power IN terminals? What about the voltage across the power REG terminals?

Thanks John,

Polarity is correct. For the power IN terminals I get 9.06 and for the REG terminals I get 4.98

thanks!

Ok. If there is no LED activity at power-up, it seems like something happened to the microcontroller onboard the MSA. I'll email to make arrangements.
