Default Best Way to Trigger 12vdc LED - Help Wanted

Hey Everyone, I just have a quick question for all of you. Hopefully someone can give a Newbie a hand. I just received the midiwidget and I love this thing. I've been waiting for a long time for a device that does exactly what it does.
I have it triggering LED to midi notes. That's easy, and everything works fine. Now, what I want to do is Trigger a strip of 12v DC LED. John has a post about using Low side switching and the ULN2803A chip to trigger a relay/ solonoid. Would it be possible to use the ULN2803A Chip and Wire the LED Strip in place of the Relay in the Picture? And Power it via a 12vdc Power Supply Hopefully this makes sense. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi Matt, welcome to the forum.

It's hard to say without seeing a schematic or specs for the light strip, but it seems like what you want to do is reasonable. Do you have more details?
