Default Bicolor LED for ACT/STBY

For the case I'm constructing around the EZMIDI, I'd like to use remote LED indicators for ACT and STBY. Actually, if possible, I'd prefer to use a bicolor LED mounted in a single hole.

I'm measuring around 111mV DC at the terminal points when the lights on the board are on. Does that seem right?

Do you think a lamp like this one would work? ("Vf= 2.0V Common Cathode")

If not, perhaps you could suggest an appropriate substitution. Thanks!

Hi ladelfa, welcome to the forum.

You'll need a common anode part to make this work. The common anode would be tied to EZMIDI 5V, and each of the LED cathodes can be linked via a series 1k resistor to the EZMIDI ACT and STBY terminals.

Let me know if that helps.

Thanks. I figured I had about a 50% chance of getting the anode/cathode thing right on the first try.

I'll give this a shot and report back how it works out.
